I’m thrilled to celebrate a major milestone — 20 years since I first took on the role of design assistant at a hospitality design firm while pursuing my interior design degree. It’s remarkable how swiftly the time has flown, and I’m amazed by the incredible career I’ve had. My passion for this work remains as strong as ever, and I continue to love every moment, even during challenging times.
I fondly remember a day early in my career when I was flipping through books in the office, searching for inspiration for a project in Hawaii. I had to pinch myself, realizing that I was making a living by thinking, exploring, imagining, and problem solving. I felt like the luckiest person then, and that feeling has never left me.
My formal education and interior design certifications have allowed me to expand my career into both commercial and residential projects worldwide. While I adhere to design principles and rules, I also embrace the emotional and mystical aspects of design that emerge from intuition, collaboration, and meaningful conversations with those involved in a project. I believe interior design is a powerful tool for my clients’ self-discovery, and from the beginning, I developed a methodology that starts with listening. If you are a client, I’m sure you remember our epic Client Lifestyle Interview.
Listening to clients, workrooms, manufacturers, and vendors — it’s a collaboration where ideas are shared and brought to life. I wouldn’t have this enriching career without the clients who took a leap of faith to embark on this journey with me — a privilege for which I am forever grateful and will never take for granted. I consider it a great honor to have worked on projects for influential private individuals, as well as accomplished entrepreneurs and businesses.
While much of my work has been based in New York City, I’ve had the opportunity to work across a diverse range of locations, such as California, Chicago, Florida, Hawaii, Hudson Valley, Las Vegas, Long Island, New Jersey, the Hamptons, Vermont, Canada, and even a private residence on the Island of Mustique.
The success of Claudia Giselle Design is reflected in our clients’ referrals and repeat business, as well as recognition from the design community through awards and features in newspapers, magazines, and online publications. Our company has participated in prestigious philanthropic events like the Holiday House Showhouse and Housing Works’ Design on a Dime. I have actively contributed to the design community by chairing multiple committees and serving as the then youngest chapter president of the International Furnishings and Design Association, as well as a member of their national board. Additionally, I have been invited to judge numerous competitions and speak at industry events.
As I continue to grow personally and professionally, I’m exploring new horizons, particularly in helping clients with second homes and investment properties — a process that brings me great joy. I’m also enthusiastic about building new relationships in person and online.
