Whichever of our services you choose, you will be guided through our design process. Though our approach is systematic, each project is tailored to meet your unique needs and desired outcomes. The Claudia Giselle design process aims to make your experience both enjoyable and rewarding. By hiring us, you can leave the design and renovation process in our hands, allowing you to focus on what matters to you the most.

Interior Design Process

take a peek

In this phase, we conduct our signature Client Lifestyle Meeting, during which we listen and learn about you and your project.

Unless it's new construction, we document and measure the space being designed. We inventory and document furnishings you will like to reuse in the new design. In this phase we establish your Project Timeline and Planned Investment Guide.

Once the information is gathered, the design process begins! We present the design concepts using mood boards, floor plan layouts, and renderings. We carefully consider your feedback and incorporate one round of revisions to perfect the design.

Conceptual Design

phase 1

After establishing the design direction in the Conceptual Design Phase, we begin to bring the established vision to life. We further develop the design concept through the selection and specification of furnishings and finishes, including lighting, fabric, wallpaper, paint color, and more.

We prepare annotated floor plans, ceiling plans, finish plans, power + data plans, interior elevations, and custom millwork details. Additionally, we provide 3D renderings to help you visualize the design.

We meet to review the design and listen to your feedback. We make one round of revisions to finalize the Design Package.

Design Development

phase 2

After finalizing the design, we enter the documentation phase, taking everything we have designed together and communicating that to contractors and architects through detailed drawings.

Once a contractor is selected by the client, we review architectural and construction documents to ensure the design intent is properly illustrated. We participate in the contractor-led budget review, respond to RFIs, and provide feedback to the client.

Once construction begins, we visit the site to ensure the design intent is honored. We send you Weekly Updates to keep you informed about the progress.

Documentation

phase 3

The implementation includes communicating with the general contractor, visiting job sites, and ensuring the trades involved in the project are adhering to the design intent. During this phase, we also handle procurement on your behalf, which entails acquiring furnishings, finishes, lighting, decor, and everything necessary for the successful execution of your project. This involves corresponding with suppliers, generating purchase orders, obtaining progress reports, coordinating with the receiver, scheduling deliveries, and arranging installations. We will keep you informed throughout the process about the status of orders through our Weekly Updates.

Implementation

phase 4

Every project starts with a target completion date. We'll schedule a day (or days) when all the furnishings arrive together, enabling you to experience the space as designed. To mark this milestone, we'll bring fresh flowers and have a celebratory toast.

Installation

phase 5

Our goal is to be fully finished with your project by Reveal Day. Rest assured that if there are any outstanding items on the punch list, we will follow up to ensure that all details are completed. We will wrap up the project by providing you with a care and maintenance packet for all the furnishings and finishes we have specified.

Project Wrap-Up

phase 6

Needless to say, your project timeline will depend on specifics such as the scope of work, permits and approvals, as well as trade availability. At Claudia Giselle Design, we strive for an organized project with a clear timeline. Before the project begins, we will provide you with an estimated project schedule tailored to your project's details. To help you visualize, below is an example of a typical timeline for a full-service, full remodel project.
